Girls 2 Women is a nonprofit organization established in 1997 to help girls in underserved neighborhoods to achieve their full personal and professional potential.
Girls 2 Women educates, inspires and motivates girls, while helping them build their self-esteem, knowledge, awareness and social skills.
The girls involved in Girls 2 Women are eager to excel in school, succeed in college and make personal and career choices that will help them build successful, fulfilling futures.
We strive to equip these bright, forward-thinking students with the tools they need by:
-
Introducing them to people, places, events and opportunities they might not otherwise experience
-
Offering a network of mentors, which includes professional women who live and work in Palm Beach County
-
Taking them on college tours to offer a close-up view of the broad range of educational opportunities available to them
For the 2017-2018 school year, Girls 2 Women is working with students at Lake Shore Middle School in Belle Glade and Turning Points Academy in West Palm Beach.
Other schools the organization has served include Pahokee High School in Pahokee, Roosevelt Middle School and Roosevelt Full Service Center in West Palm Beach, John F. Kennedy Middle School in Riviera Beach, Lake Worth High School in Lake Worth, and Glades Central High School in Belle Glade.
